KMK stands for “Kiss My Koyo”, Tysonn’s tribute to his grandmother Koyo. Before becoming KMK PARIS, this story took shape in a family home in Douala, around fragrances, blends and shared moments. The Maison’s name preserves that connection.
Today, KMK PARIS home fragrances give expression to this memory, including LIANE LIBRE and its woody, amber and leather signature. To understand their origins, we return to Koyo, Tysonn’s childhood and the place fragrance held in their daily lives.

In Douala, a home and a founding presence
When Tysonn returns to KMK’s origins, he first recalls the family home in Douala and Koyo’s presence. He grows up alongside her, learning to pay attention to materials, scents and the nuances of the world around him.
Fragrance is part of life in the house. Koyo enjoys smelling essences, bringing materials together and imagining new combinations. This interest nurtures a relationship that goes beyond preparing a blend: it becomes a way of observing together and sharing time.
The memory of these moments forms the Maison’s first chapter. Before the bottle and its label, there is a grandmother, her grandson and a curiosity passed between them.

Smell, bring materials together, begin again
In the family story, afternoons with Koyo unfold through simple gestures: opening a bottle, smelling an essence, comparing spices and trying a combination again. Tysonn watches, then gradually learns to measure and balance materials.
What seems ordinary in childhood takes on new significance with time. Through these gestures, Koyo passes on an eye for detail, patience and the freedom to explore. Fragrance becomes a shared language, connected to lived moments rather than an abstract idea of creation.
From childhood to adolescence, this closeness deepens. Koyo passes on an attentiveness and a way of creating: seeking balance, giving each material its place and trusting what you feel.

The home as a fragrance memory
In Koyo’s home, fragrance contributes to the atmosphere of the rooms and to family memories. For Tysonn, certain scents remain connected to a presence, a light or a time in his life. This relationship between fragrance and living spaces remains at the heart of the project.
The Maison carries this idea into its interest in home fragrance. A space is recognised through what we see, but also through the impressions we retain. Koyo’s story explains why this dimension holds a special place at KMK PARIS.
Once welcomed into another home, a creation also enters another story. The connection to Koyo remains at its origin, while new memories may attach themselves to the places and moments in which it is discovered.
Lockdown, then the desire to give memory a form
During lockdown, memories of Koyo return with particular strength. Tysonn feels a need to give them expression. The KMK project begins in this desire to preserve a presence and extend what has been passed on.
This passage from memory to project connects Douala with Paris. Childhood gestures do not become a formula to reproduce exactly. They nurture a sensibility, then a world of home fragrances open to other images, places and stories.
Why “Kiss My Koyo”?
The three letters KMK keep this intimate connection at the forefront. The creator explains their meaning in these words:
“KMK stands for Kiss My Koyo. Three letters like a kiss sent to my grandmother.”
The name thus carries a tribute that precedes the brand. It brings together a grandson’s affection and his gratitude for what his grandmother passed on. Koyo remains the Maison’s founding presence.
From Douala to Paris, a story that continues
KMK PARIS connects this family memory with contemporary creations. Journeys and landscapes may bring new directions, but attention to materials and to what a place leaves with us extends those first lessons with Koyo.
Discovering the Maison therefore means following two threads: fragrance notes and a legacy passed on. The first helps you choose a fragrance; the second reveals the meaning of the name and the place given to memories.
