A “long-lasting” home fragrance cannot be chosen on a promise of hours that applies to every home. With a spray, perception depends on the product, the amount used and the room’s conditions. The right aim is a pleasant presence at the moment you want, without overdosing or applying it to fabrics to extend it.

Longevity, intensity and bottle lifespan: three different questions
- Perceived longevity: for how long do you notice the fragrance in a given situation?
- Intensity: how much presence does it have in the room at a particular moment?
- Bottle lifespan: how long does the product last according to how often you use it?
A fragrance that is very noticeable just after spraying is not necessarily the one you will enjoy most afterwards. Likewise, a bottle used rarely can last a long time without each application remaining noticeable all day. A serious comparison always specifies what it measures.
What a longevity claim should specify
Before relying on a number, look for the conditions accompanying it: dose applied, room volume, assessment method and test environment. An isolated statement such as “all day” does not describe your own use.

How to assess your spray under comparable conditions

- After diffusion: assess the result from your normal place in the room, not close to the spray point.

Extend your enjoyment without trying to hold onto fragrance at all costs
Use the spray when you will actually enjoy the room. Spraying several hours before the moment that interests you, then adding more out of habit, does not necessarily deliver a better result.
